In detail, know-how on the following fields has been developed:
• Synthesis of metastable metallic materials by rapid solidification
• Synthesis of bulk metallic glasses by copper mould casting
• Characterisation of the thermal stability, thermophysical properties and phase transformations in metallic systems by means of thermal analysis, X-ray diffraction and electron microscopy techniques.
• Development of thermodynamic and kinetic models for phase transformations in metallic systems.
• Hydrogen storage.
• De-alloying as a route for the synthesis of functional nanoporous metals.
The group developed several national and international collaborations in the frame of national and European projects, as well as together with industrial partners on topics related to the aforementioned research fields.
